Fleet Management
Problem: Many Charter Captains already used Fleet Managers to help book their trips and accept payments
It was clear that Lodge & Charter could either be a threat to Fleet Managers or be an asset to them. We committed to being an asset. After speaking with several well established Fleet Managers, it was evident that they would greatly benefit from the functionality that Lodge & Charter was developing. |
Additionally, if we built them into the platform, they could become our strongest advocates for growth in their region. This drastically changed our early marketing strategy. We would now focus on a series of Regional Sprints. These sprints were initiated by partnering with a large and well-established fleet to secure a foothold in the area. |
Once we determined that it was imperative to build out Fleet Manager accounts, the real work began determining what privileges they would have to the individual accounts in their fleet. Much of the functionality could remain the same, but we had to establish how these different level accounts would interact with each other and with our platform. I accomplished this through creating comparative User Stories. |
Granting Fleet Managers access to the Lodge & Charter platform gave them a streamlined and automated way to manage calendars, communications and payments for extremely large fleets. The benefit for Lodge & Charter was gaining the ability to sign full fleets with incredibly large revenue potential. Response; "For twenty years, I have been managing a fleet of over fifty boats. For twenty years, I have been waiting for Lodge & Charter to walk through my door." |
