Life is an adventure.
Eight years ago, I left a successful sales career to solve a problem with two friends. Our mission was to make outdoor adventure more accessible for all. Our product was Lodge & Charter, a SaaS-enabled marketplace to connect adventure-seekers and outfitters, including a back office product offering for professional outfitters to more efficiently run their business.
Although our Lodge & Charter journey only lasted 18 months, it changed my life and career in incredible ways. Chiefly, this experience is where I learned about and fell in love with product strategy, development, and management. After this experience, I joined Asurion as a Product Manager on the Partner Product Strategy team. I was able earn my spot on a 3-person team that shaped the product vision and roadmap for a subscription product portfolio with 35 million monthly subscribers. We were responsible for identifying customer problems, defining the product construct to solve these problems and maximize impact, validate product market fit through research and testing, coordinate product pricing exercises, and engage the broader Asurion organization to launch these new products and programs. In an effort to further expand my skillset in product development and management, I transitioned to the New Product Development team. My goal was to continue refining the skills necessary to build, launch, and scale a new platform product. I am proud to say that my team is responsible for having built the Asurion Field application. This app is used by thousands of Asurion employees and UBreakIFix technicians across the country to run jobs for Verizon, AT&T, Samsung, and other strategic Asurion partners. It is the primary tool they use to orchestrate smart phone delivery and repair jobs for Asurion Insurance customers. Additionally, the platform was expanded to service home internet installations, appliance repair, and to serve the needs of the operations teams who manage these networks. We launched our first full jobs in early 2020 and at the time of my departure in early 2021, had a run rate of 1.5 million jobs per year run and managed on platform. In March of 2021 I joined GraphiteRx, a seed-stage startup, to help advance the mission of improving healthcare by reimagining pharmaceutical purchasing and distribution. This SaaS-enabled Marketplace was built to serve the needs of both Healthcare Providers and Pharmaceutical Suppliers. Streamlining the way they connect and transact removes friction and waste from the pharmacy procurement process and insulates Healthcare providers from the risk of drug shortage impacts. In my time at GraphiteRx, we scaled the number of hospitals utilizing the platform 10x and launched a new premium SaaS product for pharmaceutical suppliers to grow their business directly, outside of traditional wholesalers. I joined as the first product hire, grew the product team as the product leader, and served on the leadership team for the business. I am now able to leverage my product and startup experience to help entrepreneurs launch new products through the Mark II Ventures studio, as a Partner and the Head of Product.
